New Zealand' s Army has decided to merge the ranks of Warrant Officer First Class and Warrant Officer Second Class, something that the New Zealand Royal Air Force and Royal Navy did two years ago. In the British system, "warrant officers" are senior sergeants, not technical officers as they are in the US service.--Stephen V Cole
