December 15, 2006: Latin America proved to be a lucrative market for Russian arms sales this year. Over a billion dollars worth of Russian weapons were sold to Latin America. Most of the money is going for Su-27/30 fighters, and helicopters. Brazil, Venezuela and Mexico are the major buyers. Russia sells inexpensive, easy to operate stuff, and has cleaned up its reputation for poor support.
