Boeing plans to offer Australia a great deal on new fighters under Australia's "Project Air 6000" program. In addition to selling the Australians new F-18E/F Super Hornets, the company is willing to accept Australia's existing F-18A/Bs as a trade-in. While the Australians want to replace the F-18A/Bs in 2015 and the F-111s in 2020, Boeing is suggesting that the Australians move to new fighters in the near term and replace both types in 2005.--Stephen V Cole
