In Afghanistan, due to manpower limits (caused by the tenuous logistics chain), the bloated Tactical Operations Centers that US units are famous for had to be slimmed down to half as many people, and this resulted in less effective command and control when fewer people tried to do things the same way they did with larger staffs. There was not enough effort to find new innovative ways to handle operations. --Stephen V Cole
