In the Delta, a bank robbery was seen as another case of the police not responding to crime. In response, a mob of civilians attacked a local police station. Prisoners were released and weapons stolen. In retaliation, the police went after the young men suspected of taking part in the attack, and killed 15 and wounded at least 25.
