As part of Defense Secretary Cohen's drive to "reconnect" the military with society, Yahoo is conducting a contest for "dream jobs" in the military, such as flying an F-15 fighter or jumping out of a plane with Army paratroops. The jobs are temporary and amount to a publicity stunt, not actual recruits. Entrants must complete a survey and write a 100-word essay on why they want the job. Yahoo hopes that the deal will convince the military to advertise for real recruits on its web site.--Stephen V Cole
