Some sixty Taliban fighters attacked a government office in southern Kandahar province. The attackers were repulsed, losing three dead. One soldier was killed. In eastern Afghanistan, a Taliban rocket killed a civilian. The attackers had driven in from Pakistan, and fled back to Pakistan after their failed attack.
