There are other anti-Taliban groups in Afghanistan besides the Northern Alliance. Some of these groups in eastern Afghanistan have begun attacking Taliban troops in order to draw away forces fighting the Northern Alliance. Meanwhile, the Taliban have begun arresting many of the refugees from the fighting in Northern Alliance areas.
