Army operations in central and southern Afghanistan have killed 18 Taliban. The deaths occurred during raids on Taliban camps, or routes the Taliban used for travel. Some of the "Taliban" may be considered more bandits than political extremists. It's often hard to tell the difference in Afghanistan.
