Ecuador has ordered eight more Kfir-C2 fighters from Israel, but the US only allowed six to be delivered (and those to replace aircraft lost in crashes). Ecuador is paying Israel to upgrade its other Kfirs and provide them with new air-to-air missiles. Ecuador had to give up plans to buy MiG-29s as it could not find the money. Instead, it upgraded its Mirage-F1s, AT-37s, and Jaguars. --Stephen V Cole
