Saab Aerospace of Sweden is conducting research into the SHARC (Swedish Highly Advanced Research Configuration) unmanned aerial vehicle. The research is intended to determine if Sweden has the technology base to build a serious drone of this type, and can build it cheap enough for their low production runs to be less expensive than buying a foreign weapon.
