The latest authoritative (from usually reliable sources) Anthrax rumor from Washington points out that only three nations (U.S., Britain and Iraq) capable of making the kind of Anthrax spores used in the 2001 attacks. The FBI is thought to have narrowed down the list of suspects to a very short list, but doesn't want to make an arrest for fear of nailing the wrong suspect, and also because the arrest would put the spotlight on Anthrax research that the government would rather keep in the shadows.
