At least two people were killed and three other seriously injured in a nighttime shootout in Mogadishu, when a discussion in a mosque between two Sunni rivals (on how the birth of the Prophet was to be celebrated) first degenerated into a fistfight and then an armed conflict. Several worshippers that were in the Mosque were also amongst the victims when both parties opened fire. Friendly disagreements like this can simmer for a week or two and then spark a full-out fight between extended family and tribal militias. - Adam Geibel
