In Kashmir, an attack on a polling station left one rebel and one policeman dead. This is the end of the voting in Kashmir, where rebel violence against the process left 700 people dead, including two candidates and 40 party workers.

Pakistan test fired another Hatf IV surface to surface missile, saying that the test was planned for some time. This missile can carry a nuclear weapon. A nuclear warhead, however, is a tricky bit of engineering. The tests may have been to see if  their ruggedized (to handle the violent environment) warhead components will work. Radio signals will go from the warhead to a ground station to report if the warhead components are working. A nuclear warhead is a complex bit of engineering, with a lot of electronic and mechanical components that have to work at once.
