Police are closing in on the kidnappers of an American reporter. So far, 16 suspects have been arrested and the computer, used to send email and pictures of the captive, seized. The problem is, the teeming cities and villages of Pakistan provide plenty of places to hide. The kidnappers are a Moslem radical gang that has used kidnapping of Westerners in the past to achieve their goals. Or at least try to. A planeload of Indians were once hijacked  in order to get some of the unsuccessful kidnappers released from Indian prisons.
