Some 10,000 armed Pushtun tribesmen have massed at the border and demanded that the army allow their trucks to cross so they can fight for the Taliban. These militants have also blocked truck traffic into China and say they will not lift this blockade until the Afghan border is opened. In Kashmir, two soldiers were killed during a battle with rebels near the Line of Control. To the south, police surrounded a mosque held by a group of rebels.
