India has sent some 10,000 additional border troops to the Nepalese frontier to restrict the movement of Nepalese Maoist rebels. Camps in India had been used by the rebels. In Kashmir, rebel activity left one soldiers, two civilians and five rebels dead. In Pakistan, local fishermen reported seeing American warships, including a carrier) a hundred or so miles from the coast.
