Shelling across the Kashmir border killed two Pakistani civilians and wounded eleven others. In a separate incident, Kashmiri rebels ambushed a police patrol by firing from a row of shops, killing officer and wounding another. When police reinforcements showed up, they burned down twenty of the shops.
