Troops in southern Algeria seized a rebel arms shipment containing heavy machine guns, RPGs, mortars, 200 AK-47s, sniper rifles with telescopic sites and thousands of rounds of ammunition for these weapons. The GSPC rebels had paid for this shipment, and were trying to move it north to arm new recruits in the north. Several rebels were killed in the action.
