Earthquakes, and their aftershocks, in the last few days have left over 2,000 dead and many more injured and homeless. But the disaster also revealed government corruption (building codes not being enforced, relief supplies that should be available are not). This has increased existing dissatisfaction with government corruption and brought out Islamic radicals and other political opposition to organized active, or even armed, resistance to the current government.
