Rioting broke out again in Berber areas in the northeast as police began patrolling again. At least three civilians were wounded. The army had been taking care of local security, and the police kept off the streets because of earlier brutality by police against Berbers. Elsewhere, a rebel bomb killed three militiamen while a government official was kidnapped.
