Israel has issued contracts to buy six Super Dvora-II-I fast attack craft from Israeli Aircraft Industries and two Shaldag patrol combatants from Israeli Shipyards. All will be armed with 25mm Bushmaster chainguns and other weapons. The Israeli Navy has been asking for new ships for several years. These ships will be built in Israel using raw materials bought from the US with foreign aid money. Building the ships in the US would have allowed foreign aid money to be used for the entire cost, but would have cost 20% more.--Stephen V Cole
