Every great weapon in the arsenal of one superpower must eventually be matched by an equal weapon in the arsenal of its adversary. Thus, NBC's very popular (and brilliantly written) drama WEST WING may face competition from NBC's new show PENTAGON. Focusing on a half-dozen senior officers in the operations branch, the show will be written by James Webb, a former Secretary of the Navy and conservative icon. He promises a show that will be as crisp and entertaining as the White House version, but will show the military and conservatives in a way that network television and Hollywood never have.--Stephen V Cole
