The 19th coup attempt against the government of the Comoros failed on 21 March. The coup was launched by former Minister of Agriculture Mahamoud Ahmed Abdallah and Captain Abderemane Ahmed Abdallah, both of whom are sons of the first president, Ahmed Abdallah, who was killed in the 1989 coup.--Stephen V Cole
