The government has been patient, but the MILF is falling apart by members tempted to get into the lucrative kidnapping business. There have been a number of successful (the kidnappers collected a large ransom) kidnappings lately and the word gets around. MILF fighters, most of whom have been chased out of their jungle camps by army attacks in the last year, are not happy about roughing it. Nor is there much enthusiasm for the 25 year old MILF rebellion that never seems to come close to ending.
