Troops operating along the Mali border clashed with a group of GSPC rebels, leaving 13 rebels dead, and an army helicopter damaged and forced to land. One soldier was killed during the shootout between the rebel convoy (which was apparently transporting weapons and ammunition) and the helicopter.
