The US is increasing it's military aid to Algeria. Special Forces are providing training and Algerian officers are coming to America for military education. Algeria is buying military equipment, but not weapons. The American aid is partly in support of the US War on Terror. Many al Qaeda members are Algerian, although most of these men are outside of Algeria.
