Some 50 armed men raided a hospital in the Berber region, stealing medicines and surgical instruments. Because of the demonstrations, policing has broken down in the Berber areas, resulting in an increase in crime. Elsewhere in the country, rebels attacked travelers or people in taverns. A least one local militiaman was killed when rebels ransacked a post office.
