Saudi Arabia continued to search for and arrest al Qaeda and other Islamic radical terrorists. Because Saudi Arabia has tolerated Islamic radicals for over two decades, the terrorists have burrowed deep into Saudi society. But because the radicals have begun attacking the Saudi royal family (which contains thousands of prominent members), many Saudis have taken sides with the government and provided information on the activities of Islamic radical terrorists. Even Saudis who oppose the royal family recognize that terrorist attacks inside Saudi Arabia are likely to kill and injure a lot of uninvolved bystanders.
