The U.S. Department of Defense has confirmed that American forces will arrest any suspected terrorists (the U.S. considers the PKK a terrorist organization) they come across. In other words, American troops will not go out specifically to hunt down and arrest PKK leaders. However, it is known that American and Turkish diplomats and military leaders are meeting next month to discuss the issue of a crack down on PKK in northern Iraq.
