Kurdish War: July 31, 2001


A Turkish human rights group accused Turk security forces of forcibly evacuating the Kurd villages of Asat and Ortakli (Sirnak province). The NGO report said the villagers were driven from their homes and forced into another nearby village. Over 30 villagers were arrested. There were no press reports or Turkish government reports on this alleged incident.
