A third batch of British Challenger-1 tanks has reached Jordan. These 38 tanks came from a British unit that converted to Challenger-2. The fourth batch is en route. This will given the 99th Armored Brigade its full allotment of 132 tanks (three battalions of 44). A total of about 288 Challenger-1s are to be turned over to Jordan, enough for six battalions plus training units and maintenance float.--Stephen V Cole
