While 2/3 of the 633,000 residents of Jerusalem are Jews, the Arab portion is growing at 3.5% compared to the Jewish portion's 1% annually. In 30 years (assuming nothing changes) the Moslems will have a slight majority.--Stephen V Cole

October 25; Israel has signed an agreement to participate in the Joint Strike Fighter program. Classified as a "major participant", the Israelis will be kept apprised of technical issues and will have the option to buy the planes when production begins.--Stephen V Cole

October 24; Following several attacks by Hezbollah guerillas in southern Lebanon, Israel launched air attacks on suspected enemy positions in southern Lebanon.


October 18; Iran denied that is has increased the arms and money it sends to South Lebanon.

October 17; Iran has recently doubled the number of flights carrying weapons and ammunition for Hezbollah into Syria (which provides the trucks to take the arms into Lebanon) according to Israeli Intelligence.--Stephen V Cole

October 16; Hezbollah fighters fired several mortar shells at Israeli positions in South Lebanon.
