There's a sharp dispute going on in the Bulgarian armed forces, as the government plans to drop "defending the country from its neighbors" from the list of things the troops should prepare for. Instead, the government wants the troops to concentrate on peacekeeping missions, and let NATO membership secure the national borders. Not all the generals agree with this new strategy.
