Serbia, in the aftermath of Marchs Kosovo riots, is once again arguing for partition of Kosovo. Serbia issued a statement that said the riots and deaths showed the notion of a multiethnic Kosovo is an illusion. Serbia favors cantonization of Kosovo into Albanian and Serb sectors. The UN is continuing to investigate the riots but the evidence so far supports early reports that the anti-Serb violence was planned by Albanian extremists.
