More murders in Kosovo. A senior LDK official, Uke Bytyci, was shot to death in the wake of local elections held October 26. Bytyci was a supporter of Kosovos president, Ibrahim Rugova, and an LDK Albanian moderate. He was also mayor of the town of Suva Reka. Two other LDK party members also died in the shooting. The alleged murderer was identified as a member of the Albanian hard line Party of Democratic Kosovo (PDK).
