Pope John Paul II left Greece after a short but historic visit. The pope is attempting to improve relations between the Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox churches. Christendom officially split in 1054 AD. Some protesters in Greece were still angry about the Western Christian Crusaders sack of Constantinople in 1204.
