The Pan-Hellenic Socialist Party (PASOK) squeezed by the New Democracy Party (ND) to retain control of the Greek government. PASOK won 43.79 percent of the vote, ND 42.73 percent. PASOK will have 138 seats in parliament, ND 125. The Greek Communist Party (KKE) won five percent of the vote.
