Macedonia and Greece signed a military cooperation agreement. 

Turkey hopes to be named a candidate member for the European Union at the EU summit this week, but this is unlikely to happen. Greece has said it would veto any such move until Turkey has made substantial concessions on the issues of Cyprus and other Graeco-Turkish disputes.--Stephen V Cole
