Logistics: Britain Replaces Its Truck Fleet

July 11, 2006: Britain is replacing much of its military truck fleet with a family of 7,200 new four and eight wheel vehicles. The total cost is about two billion dollars. Among the many new features the vehicles will have, is the ability to quickly add armor protection against small arms and roadside bombs and landmines. The four, eight and 14 ton vehicles will start arriving in large numbers next year.
