Israel has made its second Arrow anti-missile battery operational. This one is located north of Tel Aviv at the Ein Shemer Air Base. Local residents had complained that the powerful L-Band Green Pine radar would be dangerous to their health, but the Israeli government agreed to activate it only in times of crisis. As this is the early warning radar for Arrow, it would leave Israel blind to an "out of the blue" attack during a time of relative non-crisis.--Stephen V Cole
