Canada has let it be known that it would object strongly if the US abrogated the 1972 ABM Treaty and deployed a missile defense system. The Canadians are not just worried that a world without the ABM Treaty would be more likely to experience a nuclear war, but that incoming missiles shot down by the US system would spread deadly radioactive contamination across Canada. --Stephen V Cole
