The Russians tested a short-ranged anti-missile SH08 Gazelle interceptor on 2 Nov. The missile had been removed from a silo near Moscow and taken to the Sary-Shagan missile test range in Kazakhstan for the test. The Russians have decided to keep the SH08s in service for another decade; the test was intended to confirm that the missiles were still reliable. --Stephen V Cole
