Soldiers, assisted by armed helicopters, continue to fight rebels in Darfur. Today's incident is said to have left seven civilians dead, and ten wounded. African Union peacekeepers try to investigate reports of attacks, but often cannot get there in time to find witnesses or evidence. Darfur rebels say they are attacking pro-government militias that are still attacking villages.
