The government has accused Islamist leader Hassan al Turabi and his Popular Congress Party of trying to undermine peace initiatives with the SLM in Darfur state. The government accused Turabi of promoting the rebellion in Darfur. Turabi is on the outs with Sudans Beshir government, but this is quite an accusation.
