Turkey keeps reminding everyone that they will invade northern Iraq if Iraqi Kurds take control of the oil rich city of Kirkuk and declare independence. Iraqi Kurds are threatening to take control, because they consider Kirkuk a "traditional Kurdish city." Saddam Hussein had, over two decades, expelled many Kurds from Kirkuk and moved in Arabs.
