Its a forgotten front in the Kurd War Syria. However, a Syrian Kurdish group is now accusing the Syrian government of torturing nine Kurds. The Kurdish Yakiti Party (YP) issued a statement that accused the Syrian government of torturing nine Syrian Kurds who were arrested during the summer. The statement also called for reform and democracy in Syria. Syrian minorities are getting increasingly bold in their criticisms of the Syrian government. Why? US troops next door in Iraq, as well as the prospect of democratic change in Iraq.

The Turkish Army claimed it killed 14 PKK Kurd rebels in Bingol province. The firefight between the Turkish Army force and the rebels lasted eight hours. Two soldiers were wounded in the fight.
