Turkey issued a statement saying that Ankara supports Iraqs territorial integrity. This is code language for no separate Kurd state. The Turks know Iraq is on Americas counter-terror list, but believe that destabilizing Iraq might lead to the creation of an independent Kurd state in what is now northern Iraq. A new Kurd state might put new life into the Kurd revolt inside Turkey.
