The government announced that it had convicted a Syrian for training Saudis and Palestinians to conduct attacks against US forces in Iraq. The same report said the man was involved in preparing personnel to attack a "Jewish" (Israeli) target in Eritrea. The man, however, was sentenced to only one month in prison. The report said the trial indicated a possible "funding link" between the convicted man and Saudi and Palestinian financial sources, though no proof was provided in the press material. One month, of course, doesn't cut it. But the intelligence payoff for the US from this could be large.
