  About 200 RUF rebels attempted to cross a river 60 kilometers northeast of the capital. Nearby Jordanian peacekeepers fired on the rebels and stopped them three times before the rebels gave up. In the town of Lunsar, rebels continued to skirmish with pro-government troops.
